A benefit breakfast to honor 80 years of the Florence City Library will be held during Labor Day festivities this year.

Sutherland Builders of Wichita are installing, this week, a 14’ high shaft for an elevator in the Hill School building. The elevator will allow access to the upper floors for disabled students and staff.

An open house to celebrate the 80th birthday of David McGinness will be held Sunday at McGillicuddy’s Restaurant in Marion.

Gene Winkler is pictured working in his new tape duplicating and recording studio. G & J Video business is located in the shop area of the former Gene’s Tire and Service Center at 426 East Main, Marion. The studio is the home of the local television station MCTV, cable channel 22.

Skip and Eileen Sieger and Dick and Patty McLinden were among the 5,000 people who attended the B1B Afterburner Show Saturday night at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita.
