The annual steak fry hosted by the Marion Chamber of Commerce will be Monday evening at Marion City Building. Co-chairmen of the event are Matt Classen and Roger Hannaford III.

First graders Tommy Rose, Kelli Hess, Rachel Hall, Cheyenne Jeffrey, and Alyssa Edwards are pictured as they practice a song for the K-2 Thanksgiving concert to be presented Tuesday at the MES gym.

The first event of the Christmas season, Christmas Magic, will be Sunday afternoon at Marion City Library. Christmas Home Tours will follow at the homes of Dwight and Helen Beckham, Mike and Pauline Holub, Robert and Penelope Marler, and Stan and Jami Williams.

Six Marion High School football players have been named to the Cottonwood Valley all-league first team. They are Alan Vogel, Joel Versch, Eric Smith, Jason Matz, Steven Boone, and Tyler Smith.

A new “Woody” was re-installed in Central Park Tuesday morning by city employees Don Hess and Thad Meierhoff following repair of damage done by insects. Formerly known as “A Child at Play, the wooden sculpture is the work of artist Gino Salerno of Wichita. It was donated to the city by Betty and Alden Slusser.
