County zoning, planning administrator, and sanitarian David Brazil was given another hat to wear by the Marion County Commission this week when they added the job of part-time transfer station manager to his duties.
A large group of Marion volunteers will roll out of bed Thursday morning to gather at Marion Middle School where they will be ready by noon to feed between 250 and 300 people at the annual community Thanksgiving Day dinner.
Two seniors Megan Moore, daughter of Mike and Gail Moore, and Jake Adkins, son of Denny and Teri Adkins, have been named students of the month by the Marion High School faculty.
Nineteen motor cycles and 30 cars participated Nov. 2 in the 9th annual Marion County Toy Run. The toy run netted $7,600 and a mountain of toys for groups in the area who help needy families during the Christmas season.
Skits were a part of the conclusion of Children’s’ Book Week at Marion Elementary School. First graders pictured participating in the skit, “Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving” are Jared Hague, Dylan Seacat, Nicholas Meyer, Megan Davies, Sean Buchanan, Clint Kroupa, Justin Peterson, and Zac Lewman.
