Georgie Vogel, 58, of Marion lost her life Monday in a freak accident at Martin Marietta Quarries north of Marion. An out-of-control pickup truck, owned by the company, crashed through the office where she was working, trapping her inside the building and causing fatal injuries.
Several students from Marion have been chosen for inclusion in the 2003 Gerry Neustrom Young Artist Challenge sponsored by the Salina Art Center. Students are Michael Yates, James Davis, Ive Eddy, Tomi McLinden, and Shawna Hett.
Andrea Wegerer, daughter of Lou and Judy Wegerer of Marion, a junior at K-State, received the Outstanding Horticulture Therapy Student of the year award April 13 at the annual College of Agriculture awards assembly.
Ten Webelo Scouts received the Arrow of Light, highest Cub Scout award on March 13. They now join the rank of Boy Scouts. Pictured are Cody Hiebert, Justin Herzet, Drew Maddox, Mitch Cady, Mason Kukuk, Ryan Jones, Bryan Fruechting, Tony Craig, Wil Case, and Louis Holt.
Shelley Bradberry and Jason Reiswig were married April 27 on the 18th fairway of Prairie Trails Golf and Country Club, El Dorado.
