City of Marion offices will be moved Thursday and Friday, to the “old” (former) library, adjoining the City Auditorium to the west.

Several parties have been held in the Kansas City area recently honoring the retirement of James and Kathleen Thomas from KC Honeywell. Kathleen is the daughter of Anita and Virgil Weber of Marion.

Marion City Commission on Monday approved an enabling resolution for issuance of industrial revenue bonds for the developer of a proposed assisted living facility.

Dozens and dozens of bicycle riders, part of the Biking Across Kansas promotion, will converge on Marion today for an overnight stop. They will be greeted at Central Park and spend the night in Marion Gymnasium.

Marion City Library has purchased three new computers with money awarded from a Library Service Technology Act grant. James Svoboda, 8, and Adam Svoboda, 12, are pictured as they play the educational “Wizard of Oz” game on one of the computers

Jerry Smith recently retired from Marion High School after 18 years of service.
