The grand opening of Mid-America Marble Products will be Jan. 24 at 1105 North Industrial, Marion. The manufacturing facility produces cultured marble, onyx and granite kitchens and bath products.
The Kansas Civilian Conservation Corps statue project is off to a good start. More than $3,000 has been contributed toward the $20,000 project. The statue will be placed at the entrance of Marion County Park and Lake, southeast of Marion.
Mike and LaVona Loveless of Antelope will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mike Loveless and LaVona Weathers were married Jan. 14, 1954.

Marion County resident Chuck McLinden has been elected president of the Marion County Fair Board for 2004.
Billy and Donna Rosiere, new owners of Marion Dry Cleaning and Coin laundry, were presented a “first dollar of profit” Friday by Marion Chamber of Commerce members Jami Williams, Mickey Lundy, Chris Costello, Feebie Holdeman, and Margo Yates.
