Marion Advancement Campaign held a fundraiser Saturday evening with a meal, entertainment, and information about the proposed project of a community center and movie theater. Kevin Fruechting, president of Central National Bank, made a donation of $10,000 from Central National Bank for the project.

“Beary Special Babies” born at St. Luke Hospital during the month of March were Timothy Jordan Young and Emily Jean Hake, both born March 4.

For years, Norma Hannaford of Marion has been saying she didn’t want to live to be 100. Like it or not, she is about to celebrate her arrival at the century mark. An open house in honor of the occasion will be held Saturday at the Marion Presbyterian Church.

Christine Laue and Christopher Myers of Omaha, Neb., were united in marriage Jan. 24 at Scoular Building Ballroom in Omaha. Christine is the daughter of Harvey and Betty Sanders of Marion.

Maurice and Margie Stroda of Ramona lost everything in their home in a house fire March 31. They have lived there all their married life, almost 56 years.
