The 48th annual Summervill reunion was held July 13 at the Marion City Building. A basket dinner at noon was enjoyed by the 41 in attendance.

Marion National Bank of Marion recently earned a five-star superior rating from Bauer Financial, Inc. of Coral Gables, Florida, leading independent bank rating and research firm.

The CVL 12-and-under All-Star team, coached by Kelly Robson and Brad Seacat, took third place this past weekend in the Cal Ripken State Baseball Tournament in Lyons. The regional tournament begins Saturday in Marion for the first of its kind in Marion County. Team members are James Jones, Grif Case, Troy Higgs, Austin Pedersen, Jacob Harper, Zach Robson, Dylan Seacat, Taylor Heidebrecht, Luke Steele, Tyler Busenitz, and Bret Voth.

Pictured is Sam Ehrlich with his reserve champion market steer at the Tri-County Fair at Herington. Ehrlich is the son of Mike and Kathy Ehrlich of Marion and a member of Happy Hustlers 4-H Club.

The 78th annual Marion County Fair will be held July 23-26 in Hillsboro.

Tampa mayor Jim Clemmer is pictured with three young bicyclists who are bicycling from the East Coast to Seattle, Washington. The trio spent Tuesday night in Tampa City Park before continuing their journey west.
