A plethora of activities are planned Friday evening when Pumpkin Palloozza comes to Marion. Numerous activities are planned on Main Street and at Suffield’s lot, west of Duckwall’s. There will be hayrack and buggy rides, plus many other activities. This event is sponsored by the retail sales committee of Marion Chamber of Commerce.

Lesley (Sieger) Allen, Ph.D, recently joined the department of language, literature, and culture as an assistance professor of English at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. She is the daughter of Skip and Eileen Sieger of rural Marion.

Marion City Library will host Christmas Home Tours Nov. 20. Homes on the tour include Claude and Phyllis Landis, Jeannie and Brad Wildin, The Outdoors Inn, and Gerald and Jan Wiens.

Marion Elementary School has announced its October students of the month, chosen by a teacher because they exhibited responsibility, were respectful, and did their best. Winners received coupons and gift certificates from various Marion businesses. Students of the month include Andrew Hampton, Quinton Hett, Shyla Harris, Grace Neal, Garrett Hoffner, Kourtney Hansen, Debra Kimbrel, Sydnee Baldwin, McKayla Oursler, Taylor May, Cameron White Mackenzie Eden, Will Alleven, Conner Branson, Maggie Vinduska, and Elizabeth Schaefer.
