Marion County Special Education Cooperative approved the purchase of the former Golden Living Center building at 1500 E. Lawrence, Marion. The cooperative approved the purchase price of $100,000 at a meeting Monday evening via telephone conference.

Santa Claus made a quick visit to Marion Elementary School Monday as students asked him questions about Christmas. After Santa read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and answered questions, the jolly old elf gave each student a candy cane.

Julia Zeiner scored 31 points and Lindsay Hett added 14 Friday, but the Marion High School girls’ basketball team fell to third-ranked Moundridge, 65-6. The Marion boys, led by Elliot Hett (18 points), Isaac Hett (16), and Luke Gordon (12) were in the game until the end but lost, 65-59.

Dear Santa,

For Christmas, I would like an iPod and a cell phone or an iPod Shuffle. Me and my sister Calli are going to leave some cookies. How many reindeer do you have!!! I like Rudolph. I love you!!!
