Country Lakes Café has brought a little bit of Branson, Missouri, to Marion since 2005 by providing singing waiters. Tabor College student Hanna Bishop is pictured as she sings to customers while waiting tables.

Don and Dawn Hett, Marion, will be hosting the first stop Saturday on the 2009 Kansas Hereford Tour. The Hetts recently purchased Rex and Vernolis Siebert’s Diamond X Herefords. They are continuing the Diamond X brand.

J.C. Ehrlich is featured as he recalls the Depression era and reminisces about old times and his experiences of the rigors of farming at an early age.

Hutton Construction has been selected as construction manager for a St. Luke Hospital expansion and renovation project. Patient rooms will be reduced, the laboratory will be updated, and the most noticeable change will be the hospital’s front entrance.

Twelve Marion pre-kindergarten through sixth grade youths recently to part in a track meet in Minneapolis. Participants were Gunner and Cross Brown, Will, Cade, and Garret Alleven, Janson and Cooper Garman, Mason Pederson, Josh Knolla, Evann and Peyton Heidebrecht, and Zane Slater.
