Winter weather came Monday night when four to six inches of snow and sleet were reported throughout the county.

Nick Klenda was named to the Wichita Eagle’s class 3A all league football team as a defensive lineman. Parker Ash was an honorable mention at offensive line.

Marion County Toy Run raised $12,300 this year for local charities to distribute toys and food to needy families, bringing the total raised since it began in 1994 to more than $100,000.

Marion High School girls basketball team 2008-2009 letter winners are Kristen Steinborn, Lindsay Hett, Kayley Heerey, Julia Zeiner, Bridget Lundy, Whitney Gordon, and Danae Edwards.

Warren and Paula Fike of Ramona will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church parish hall, Ramona.

Marion High School boys basketball is looking to rebound this year after going 5-16 in the 2008-2009 season. Seniors on this year’s team are Eric Vogel, Wil Case, Isaac Hett, Drew Maddox, and Mitch Cady.
