Another school year for Marion schools opens next Monday. And the facilities are greater than they ever were before and the equipment for high grade work never so good And that is saying something for Marion has long had one of the best schools in the state.

Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Bryan have issued invitations to the wedding of their daughter Eva and Mr. Walter Siebert, which takes place at their home on the evening of September 10th.

The 47th National Encampment of the G.A.R. will convene in Chattanooga, Tenn., September 15th. The railroad rate from Marion is something like $25. Arrangements have been made for free lodgings at Chattanooga for veterans for four days.

The flag and bunting which were used at the Chautauqua were misplaced and are still missing. Any information concerning them will be gladly received at this office.

Rev. Nichols and family who have been camping at Camp Locklin for a few days broke camp a few days ago. They had a great time. There was a Wild Rumor that Rev. Nichols was seen in the field one day helping pitch alfalfa. But of course you mustn’t believe everything you hear.

Walter Siebert has contracted for the erection of a residence on the lots north of Rosse Case’s residence.
