The high school girls’ and boys’ basketball teams started the season on the right track last Friday evening by defeating the Hillsboro teams on the Hillsboro floor. The Marion girls’ team is composed of Myrtle Mollohan, Grace Van Scoik, Mary Olsen, Esther Belton, Mildred Williams, Edna Frazer and Doris Miesse.

H.S. Martin and family are to arrive in Manila today. The only word received from them since they sailed was in letters, which were mailed when they stopped at Honolulu.

Dr. Branch has installed a new Electric Sterilizer in his Dental office. This is one of the newly discovered uses of electricity in Dentistry and assures thorough sterilization of all instruments used in the mouth.

The fine store room in the new Wheeler building west of the Nelson Furniture Co. has been painted and cleaned out this week to make ready for occupancy by the Marion Flower Store and a piano firm, Lintholm and Webster, from McPherson. The combination of flower and piano stores to one place should make a very attractive sales room.

Roy Kelly of Florence was here Tuesday greeting Marion friends. He has almost recovered from the wound inflicted by the sharp knife with which he was stabbed penetrating at least four inches into the abdomen.
