The City Commissioners have entered into a contract with Mr. John Ehrlich to operate and manage the city water and light plant for a period of one year, beginning the first of January.

The annual meeting of the Marion County Farmers’ Institute will be held in Marion Dec. 15 and 16. Several speakers from the Agricultural College will be here and as a special and unexpected feature there will be an address by Hon. H.S. Martin who is home from the Philippines, mainly on official business.

You are invited to attend a Colonial wedding during the holidays. Watch for the date.

The County Commissioners have let the contract for a new bridge to take the place of the one long known as “Dead Man’s Bridge” south of town—south of the creamery. This will be a splendid improvement. That place has long been one of the worst around here.

A number of citizens entertained the football boys—both first and second teams—at dinner Tuesday evening. The dinner was served in the big front room at the Marner-Coffman office and the tables were beautifully decorated. After the Eats—which were strictly right—there were some talks and yells and the spirit of the occasion was one of fine fellowship.
