The Auditorium was badly damaged by fire yesterday. The walls were not injured and the roof was damaged only in a few places in the south end, but the interior of the whole south end was practically destroyed. The stage floor, all the scenery and stage equipment and three pianos are a total loss. The interior of the whole building was quite badly smoked and was damaged somewhat by the water. It is thought that the fire was started in some manner by the furnace.

Invitations have been issued for the marriage of Miss Mary Ehrlich to Mr. Fred H. Batt on Thursday, December 29th.

Mr. Taliaferro sold his interest in the Taliaferro-Walker store to his partners and the business will be continued under the name of Walker Bros. Harry Rogers has taken a position with the firm and the establishment plans to keep right up to the latest and best in men’s furnishings.’

Miss Florence Powers has received a $150 Victrola for a Christmas present.

Another picture has been added to the Court House Portrait Gallery—that of Mrs. Sharon. Mrs. Sharon took a homestead in this county in 1871, in 1872 was elected County Superintendent, and was re-elected in 1874. In 1876, she was appointed a missionary to the Navajo Indians in Arizona, and in 1894 transferred to the mission among the Esquimos. Her present home is in Dawson, Yukon, Alaska.
