Mayor Josiah Good has been in Kinsley, Sterling and other towns this week investigating city power plants. It is likely that Marion will have to purchase new engines soon and Mr. Good is collecting data on the matter to present to citizens in the near future. The people know that any investigation of the power question which Mr. Good makes will be thorough.

August R. Hett received a message on Monday from the Hiram & Lloyd Building Construction Company of DeSoto, Mo., wanting him to come at once to take charge of the carpenter work on a U.S. Post Office Building, and left on Tuesday to take charge of the work. It is a good job, and we have no doubt he will handle it in fine shape.

The 34th annual Messiah Festival at Lindsborg will be held March 28 to April 4. There will be 18 concerts and recitals during the festival.

Word was received of the death of Dr. J.N. Hannaford, March 13 at his home in Mount Vernon, Washington. For nearly 30 years, Dr. Hannaford practiced medicine here and few men have lived here who held a closer place in the affections of the people.

Marion is to have a cleanup day on April 12th. Get ready to clean up and make Marion shine.

The County Y.M.C.A. was “officially” started Thursday evening of last week with a banquet, which was attended by perhaps 150 men from various parts of the county.
