The absence of city lights during Chautauqua—owing to the burning of the city plant—was a distinct loss, but the gasoline lights served very well. In addition, electric lights for the platform were kindly furnished by Harry Rogers from his light plant at the Auditorium and helped greatly.

The City Commissioners have decided to tear down the walls of the present power house to the foundation and erect a new building. The Commissioners hope to have the building erected and the new plant ready for operation November 1.

Relatives and a few intimate friends witnessed the very beautiful wedding when Miss Elsie Cerney, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cerney of Pilsen, was united in marriage to Mr. William Shelhon at the Catholic church on Monday at ten o’clock by the Rev. Father Sklenar.

Leslie Bryan came home from Nebraska Tuesday. He is suffering with a broken ankle. He was made sick by riding on a merry-go-round and jumped off while it was going and broke both bones of his ankle. He is able to go on crutches.

Mrs. Josiah Good, Mrs. Jessie Sumner and Miss Clara Sumner, of the Home Economics Club, will go to Elk on Tuesday of next week to conduct cooking demonstrations for the benefit of the ladies of the community.
