The book campaign put on last Tuesday by the City Library Committee was a great success. Six hundred and twenty-five books were received and a number more are to be sent in. Besides, there was received in cash for purchase of books, $28.75. The people of the town responded splendidly in this matter, and the interest aroused in the library is also a great value.

About 400 people, mostly farmers, were at the Santa Fe Station Saturday morning when the cow and hen demonstration train arrived, and for nearly two hours, experts from the railroad company and the state agricultural college told of the results of experiments made in an effort to further develop the dairy and poultry industries of eastern and central Kansas.

The Kansas Cash Stores Co. is moving this week to the old P.O. building at the corner of Main and Fourth. It is a good location. The Sandberg Drug Co. will move to the room vacated by Kansas Cash as soon as contemplated improvements can be made.

Work on the new church at Aulne is progressing well now. The brick used is very deep red—almost black, and very rough. The effect with the light trimming is going to be very effective.

Robbers broke into Pantle’s store the other night and took several guns and some ammunition. They also entered Foust’s but took nothing, apparently.
