A large and enthusiastic crowd of property owners met with the city commissioners Wednesday night in regard to paving of streets.

Bids have already been called for the pavement north from the Sam Freeland home (Cedar and Main Sts.) to the Dr. C.C. Jones property.

Byron Stout has circulated a petition and secured a majority of owners for paving the block north of this to the M.S. Bryan corner then west (on Sherman St.) three blocks to the John Greer corner.

Roy Sumner is circulating a petition for the paving of Lincoln Ave., south from Main.

Mrs. J.N. Rogers has purchased a Willys-Knight car.

Out of sixteen slogans submitted in the contest that closed Tuesday, the committee chose the 13th taken out. It is “Make Marion Mighty” and was handed in by J.E. Delaplain.

Canvassers went out this week to get signers for the hard surfacing of the road south from Marion seven miles to join the New Santa Fe Trail and in one day got the required number.
