The members of the Christian church raised $24,205 last Sunday afternoon in preparation for the erection of their new church edifice on the hill, on the premises purchased some time ago from Mr. John Powers. Architects are drawing the plans for the edifice.

The McIntosh and Kline meat markets have consolidated and will conduct the market as a partnership at the present location of the Kline market.

A beautiful memorial plate has been placed on the wall of the high school building by the Class of 1919 in honor of James Miesse of the Class of 1917, who fell in France Sept. 29, 1918, in the Battle of the Argonne Forest.

Mr. and Mrs. George Pankratz are the parents of a daughter. They are with Mrs. Pankratz’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Beaston.

The governor has, according to the custom, designated October 9th, the anniversary of the great Chicago fire, as Fire Prevention Day.
