There have been metal signs ordered for some of the principal corners directing travelers into Marion. Awaiting these some wooden signs were temporarily placed. Four of these directing the road from the Covert field have completely disappeared. What is to be the conclusion from such vandalism?

Miss Edna Grimes, who has been principal of the high school at Arcadia for two years has recently been made superintendent at a salary of $2000. It is said Miss Grimes is getting the highest salary of any of the women obtaining like positions at schools.

The M.O.N. girls had a dinner at the Elgin Tuesday night in honor of Miss Dorothy Bowlby’s birthday anniversary. This was followed by a line party at the Garden.

The matter of the bridge over the canal south of Marion is being handled as tactfully and carefully and intelligently as possible. Misunderstandings have arisen and these must be ironed out. The committee is conferring with State engineers, who are disinterested parties and the best interest of the people is to be considered.

Mrs. Dora Shinn and little daughter, Elizabeth Arline, returned to their home at Topeka the last of the week after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Holder.
