Thirty-four young people will receive diplomas as graduates of Marion High School this evening. It is a splendid bunch of young people, and the town is proud of them.

Leland Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. W. Thompson, and Chas. Curtis, son of Mrs. D.M. Baird, are the first of the Marion boys to begin actual military service, having begun training in the officers’ training camp at Fort Riley the first of the week.

Frisco Hansen, the Aulne stockman, sold a yearling whiteface recently for $300.

Little Josephine Hensley, 6 years old, of Tampa is a patient in our hospital. Last Friday, she was severely kicked on the head, her skull being fractured. She was brought to the hospital Saturday and an operation performed to remove the injured bones. She is getting along nicely, and they are very hopeful for her recovery.

Acting upon a petition, County Superintendent Ray has ordered establishment of a new school district — mostly, if not all, in Clark Township. The district is to be formed by taking some territory from Districts 87, 38, 47, and 120. This establishment will stand unless overruled by the county commissioners.

Miss Milan of the Agricultural College will be in Marion to give demonstrations Saturday of new methods of canning and drying fruits and vegetables. All the women of the county are cordially invited to attend.
