County School Superintendent Ray has finished his visitation of rural schools and is this week inspecting city schools. It is a great big job to visit all the schools of the county. There are about 120 districts in the county, and to visit them all means traveling many hundreds of miles.

Mr. and Mrs. John Powers have announced the engagement of their daughter Winifred to Mr. Henry J. Sawtell of Miles City, Montana. The wedding is to take place early in April.

Emmanuel Batt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Batt, and Anna Schlotthauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schlotthauer, were united in marriage March 3. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s parents by John Pankratz, pastor of the German Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Batt will make their home on a farm two miles south of Antelope.

Fred Stinchcomb Jr. has bought an interest in C.C. Claney’s hardware store at Aulne and will assist in management of the store.

The first letters from Henderson Martin and family since they reached Manila were received a few days ago by Marion folks. The letters were only brief ones, mailed soon after their arrival. But before long, the Record expects to have more with more details of their first impressions of the country.
