Mrs. Roy Sumner has culminated plans for having what is termed a “movable school” in the Wren neighborhood. It will begin Oct. 26 and last a week under the instruction of a domestic science teacher from Manhattan. Women of the neighborhood and girls older than 15 may attend free of charge. Cooking and sewing will be taught.

The Tampa folks pulled off a big celebration last Saturday, the occasion being the dedication of an Old Santa Fe Trail monument. Judge Doster told of his pioneer experiences along the trail and of his recollection of early conditions at the site of Tampa, Durham, and other places in the northwest part of the county,

Someone said that the Germans will start in to lick the U.S. if they win out in Europe. We think, however, that any of the nations at war will probably take one good night’s rest and a day to think about it before they wade over our way.

Telegraph service has been secured, which will give the results of the World Series in baseball beginning tomorrow afternoon. A large scoreboard will be put up at the corner of 3rd and Main Sts. where the score and plays will be announced by inning. The series this year is between the Boston Nationals and the Philadelphia Americans, and the first game will be played at Philadelphia.
