Marion County Common School graduating exercises will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Marion Auditorium. To meet the expense of the Auditorium, an admission of 20 cents will be charged to all except graduates.

Aulne folks who put on “High Life at Saratoga” yesterday evening at the Auditorium made a large hit. We regret that it is impossible to give extended account of the performance. There was a splendid audience, the admissions amounting to $106, which will nearly all go to the Good Road Fund.

John Griffiths has a new car — a Ford engine and running gear with body built into a runabout and the machine geared high. Being used to driving a heavy car, he says the only trouble is to keep it from jumping out from under him.

A new bridge south of town — “dead man’s bridge” — has been finished and will be open to traffic in 10 days or two weeks.

Among the June specials in the grocery department of W.W. Loveless and Sons Department Store are fine quality smoked breakfast bacon, 18 cents a pound; yellow cheese, $1.05 for five pounds; peanut butter, 75 cents for five pounds; bulk coffee, 70 cents for five pounds; good brooms, 25 cents each; Grape Nuts, 35 cents for three packages; and any assortment of 24 cans of corn, peas, cut green beans, large tomatoes, pumpkin, kraut, or hominy, $2.25.
