They are putting up ice this week. Splendid ice, about eight inches thick, we understand.

Ellsworth Wright drove down from the farm yesterday. Said that he couldn’t get his car started — hadn’t had it out for a couple of weeks — until he fastened it on behind a wagon and warmed it up for a little ways. Then it kicked up its heels and pulled on the traces. Like other animals, a car has a disposition that has to be learned.

J.C. Watson had the misfortune to sprain his right knee Sunday evening and has since been confined to his bed. The sprain is not considered serious but for the time being necessitates quiet.

Mrs. Jacob Good and children returned last week from Canada, where they have had quite an extended visit with relatives.

Bert Powell and family have moved into the Hodge residence on the Hill, Bert having sold out his interest in the city delivery system at Minneapolis. He has opened a restaurant in the Forney Building. “Shorty” Powell and Mrs. Powell are doing the cooking. Here’s a welcome back to Marion and success to him.
