Judge Ed. Baxter quitted the Indian’s home for his native heath, arriving home Tuesday morning. He left Loveless, Wheeler, and Dean, with tape-line in hand, measuring lots and streets to see if there were not some undiscovered gaps on which to settle. The great Guthrie should be named the “Greatest Wonder of the World.” Mr. Baxter says that the “Cherokee Strip” is a much finer country than Oklahoma. Both the judge and Stuart Beebe agree that the opening of Oklahoma was the greatest sight of their lives.

We all have passed many times into the “Land of Nod,” but Friday evening we shall be permitted to see the Land of Nod. This beautiful operetta will be presented by the children of our city, under the supervision of Miss Ackley.

The centennial of Washington’s inauguration will be observed in our city April 30th. Union services have been arranged, in accordance with the recommendation of President Harrison. The service will be held at the Baptist church at 9 a.m. Rev. Enyeart, pastor of the M.E. church, will preside. Let the day be one of rejoicing for the hundred prosperous years of the nation’s life, and let everyone be grateful for the best government the world possesses.
