The jury in the case of Dr, Schuhart, the notorious jointist, brought in a verdict of guilty on three counts this morning. Mr. C.C. Cunningham and Miss Alice Norris, an especially handsome couple from Peabody, were married in the Elgin parlors, Wednesday, by Judge Foote. The RECORD, which has always insisted that a woman should receive as big wages as a man for the same amount and kind of work, notes with pleasure the substantial realization of this ideal in Marion county school matters. The average salary of male teachers in this county is $51.30; of female, $47.70. The high-salaried Principals are all men, which largely accounts for the difference in the average.
