A regular epidemic of marriages has broken out in Marion the past week. “Any new case?” has come to be the popular greeting of friends when they meet each other. And there have not only been marriages and marriages, but rumors of marriages. Scarcely a marriageable young man or young woman has escaped being “talked about” in this way. To all these happy young people the RECORD tenders hearty congratulations.

On account of the snow blockade Judge Earle could not reach here, and Mr. L.F. Keller was called to the bench by his fellow lawyers. Mr. Keller is splendidly equipped for judicial duties, and would long since have been permanently on the bench, had he permitted his friends to place him there.

This is probably the most wintery December in Kansas history.

Mr. James McIntosh’s little five-year-old boy fell and broke his arm and dislocated his shoulder last Friday. Drs. Rogers and Marner attended the little fellow, and he is getting along nicely.

“Aunt Betsey” Griffith, wife of “uncle George” Griffith, one of the three pioneer women of Marion, and one of the best women in the world, has been seriously sick for a week or two, but is now better, we are glad to say.
