Mr. R. Calhoun not only makes and mends all kinds of boots and shoes, but now keeps on hand a full line of ready-made work.

James Moreland’s new livery stable, on Main street, is completed, and is a very creditable structure.

Mr. W.M. Piersall has superseded Mr. Comstock as city milkman. Comstock has served the people long and faithfully.

We know a young lady and a young gentleman in McPherson county who desire to attend school in Marion Centre, but cannot afford to pay board. They are willing to work for their board, and if any of our citizens want such help they will please leave word at this office.

A drove of thirteen hundred sheep passed through town Tuesday.

Notwithstanding the large number of new houses erected in Marion Centre this season, the demand largely exceeds and outgrows the supply. Every available room is occupied. Every new house has a half dozen applicants before it is completed. More houses are urgently needed.
