Captured Cheyenne have been taken to Fort Leavenworth, where they will probably be tried for the murder of white settlers in Kansas.

Six new buggies were bought by citizens of Marion Centre last week. Now, girls, this item is worthy of your attention.

Florence Herald: We understand that Mr. Jex has received some very flattering testimonials on his new stone quarry just east of Florence.

Sample pieces of stone had been shipped to Washington, and the government experts had pronounced it to be equal to the best limestone found in the United States.

It is decided that the second story of the government building in Topeka and the new post office in Kansas City shall be built of this stone.

Such being the case, it will be a big thing for Florence, as it will bring a large force of men here to quarry the stone.

Undersheriff Smith wants the rascal who got away with his fountain pen to return it.

The preponderance of information is thus far in favor of a good peach crop in this section. We feel confident that we will in some way be able to get the cream if the peaches are only forthcoming.

Stilts have broken out in town.
