There is scarcely a time from 9 o’clock to 5 any day that as few as 25 wagons can be seen on Main St. in Marion Centre, and often double that number can be seen at one time.
It is safe to say that the circus took several thousand dollars from Marion County.
Lockwood’s massive block assumes colossal proportions. We are anxious to see those iron fronts completed. They will be the first iron fronts in the city but will be immediately followed by one more, a least — that of Corbett & Bown, in the new building they have commenced.
Poor little Dandy is dead! Dandy, the frisky little dog, who was known wherever his master, Col. Bates, was known. He was to the colonel what that celebrated lamb was to Mary:
Everywhere the colonel went, Dandy was sure to go. He was an intelligent little canine, and the attachment between him and his master was very strong.
But he has quit standing on his hind feet and extending his paw for a “shake.” His playful “bark will be heard no more forever.”
