The stage is set for a weekend packed with comedy, singing, and dancing as all five high schools in Marion County prepare for plays, including four musicals.

In Marion, around 50 students are practicing for “Grease,” directed by Janet Killough.

A cast of 18 Centre students are preparing for the comedy, “Chateau La Roach,” directed by Jennifer Montgomery, Lynley Remy, and Sharon Matz.

Marlene Anduss of Marion is pictured displaying some of her 1,963 sets of salt and pepper shakers. They are displayed in a special room built onto the Anduss house at 1015 E. Main St.

Marion city workers have been busy the past several weeks testing and replacing Christmas lights on buildings. The city provides this free service to businesses and individuals who originally paid for lights several years ago. The lights will be turned on Thanksgiving Day.

Nine Marion Warriors have been named all-league. Included are volleyball players Lindsay Hett and Julia Zeiner and football players Parker Ash, Sheldon Boone, Luke Gordon, Brad and Nick Klenda, Mitchell Leppke, and Matt Thierolf.
