Marion County commissioners discussed obtaining a permit for a construction and demolition landfill at the Martin Marietta quarry owned by Rocky Hett.

Members of the Elling-Warneke families gathered recently in Denton, Texas, for the birth of a baby. Pictured is baby Victoria Ruth Elling, was born Nov. 11; great-grandmother Edith Warneke of Marion; grandmother Patricia Warneke Elling of Lebanon, Tennessee; and proud father Carl Elling III.

The first Marion Warrior basketball game in the new gym belonged to the Lady Warriors. Nine players scored. They were led by Julia Zeiner’s 20 points. The girls earned a 63-26 victory against Peabody. Senior boys Luke Gordon and Elliot Hett and juniors Eric Vogel and Isaac Hett combined to score 44 of Marion’s 46 points to Peabody’s 43 in the boys’ game.
