Roy Houdyshell of rural Lincolnville is pictured with a purple-top turnip that tips the scale at nearly 12 pounds. Houdyshell, who has planted turnips for 30 years, says it is the biggest he has ever grown.

On display during the month of December at Marion City Library is a portion of a collection of nativity sets belonging to Nancy Methvin of rural Marion County.
