St. Luke Foundation kicked off a public fundraiser April 21 when it announced it had $510,944 in pledges toward a goal of $2 million for remodeling St. Luke Hospital.
The stars of “American Pickers,” Mike Wolf and Frank Fritz, were in Marion on April 15 to film a segment of their television show. They filmed at a storage building owned by Marion Ogden and Dennis Maggard of Bearly Makin’ It Antiques.
Marion High School students Nick Klenda and Julia Zeiner set school records Friday at the Conrad Nightingale Invitational in Halstead. Klenda set a school and a meet record in discus with a throw of 182 feet 10 inches. Zeiner set a school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.78 seconds.

The 14th annual Chingawassa Days will be June 4, 5, and 6 in Marion’s Central Park. The festival will be capped off June 5 when local favorite and national recording artist .38 Special performs.
