Marion City Council met for a special meeting Monday and went into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss the 20 applications the city has received for the city administrator position.
Council’s goals were to narrow down the list of applicants and lay out a plan to begin interviewing applicants.
The council decided to contact three candidates to interview, and send all other candidates a letter thanking them for their interest in the position.
City Clerk Angela Lange will present a recommended interview process at the next meeting Monday.
