20th Century Club learns about stress management

Dr. Paige Dodson and her husband, Scott, joined 16 members of the 20th Century Club for their Feb. 2 meeting in the Santa Fe Room at Marion City Library.

Dodson led members through a guided meditation. She then defined stress, talked about its symptoms and how it affects people, and explained stress management techniques.

Members answered roll call by sharing what they do to relieve stress.

Members voted to volunteer five days this summer to serve meals to children in the community. The meals will come from the Kansas Food Bank in Wichita and will be provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Dorothy Youk and Marge Schwartz were hostesses. They served decorated cookies, nuts, and candy. They gave heart-shaped boxes containing valentine candy as favors. Several members received stuffed animals through a random selection process.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. March 2 in the Santa Fe Room at the Marion City Library. Members are asked to wear green shirts and to bring hors d’oeuvres to share. Drinks and dessert will be provided.
