Scores of volunteers razed the old E.R. Burkholder lumber storage building in Lincolnville last week in order to salvage wood to build an addition onto the Dan Peterson home. The addition is being constructed to serve the Petersons’ son, Jeff, who was paralyzed during a recent car crash.

Work has begun to construct a helicopter landing pad at St. Luke Hospital. Frank Holub, leader of the fund drive that raised $930 to purchase materials, is pictured on the front page as he looks over the site

This week’s Organist Series features Ruth Poppe who has been playing the 1928 pipe organ at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincolnville for 29 years.

Donahue Corporation of Durham has introduced a new line of stock trailers that are receiving wide acceptance. The trailer features seven-foot inside width and no wheel wells, a treated 40-year wooden floor, three year limited warranty, and .10 gauge lower wall construction to prevent rust.

Marion County Clerk Geraldine Seibel was honored for more than 30 years of service, March 24, during a luncheon at the Owl Car Café in Marion. William D. Clement, administrative judge of the 8th Judicial District, presented Seibel with a service pin. Seibel has been in charge of the court’s office for more than 31 years.
