Tiemeier’s in Lincolnville will be holding a celebration Aug. 15 to celebrate the 100th birthday of the general store.

Jan Helmer has been hired by the Marion County District Court Clerk, which brings the office up to full staff again for the first time in months.

Elora Robinson and Joyce Smith participated Sunday in an invitational women’s’ 18-hole golf tournament at Herington. Elora was first in the championship flight. She also had the longest drive on the ninth hole and closest to the pin on three.

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Russell of El Dorado announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Kathryn Lee, to Michael Gene Ehrlich, son of Robert Ehrlich and Mrs. Robert Harris, both of Marion. The couple will be married Aug. 22.

Mrs. Morris N. Ehrlich, Marion is pictured holding two burpless cucumbers brought in for this week’s Produce Derby. One is over 14 inches long and the other a foot in length.

The CVL all-star team won the District 6 Babe Ruth tournament played this weekend at Marion Athletic Field. They will begin play Friday in the state tournament at Olathe. Youngsters from Marion on the squad are Brett Sprowls, Shane Klein, and Alan Meisinger. Lincolnville players are John Jirak and Ryan Spohn.
