School board members agreed to terms of a lease, with option to purchase, Monday night, that will give the Marion district a bus barn and relieve crowded conditions at the high school. The board agreed to pay Ray and E.D. Longhofer an $800 lease for five years, then have the option to purchase the building for a total price of $80,000 with the lease money credited toward that figure.

Harry and Theodora Koslowsky hosted a reception Dec. 5 honoring their son and his wife, Jim and Marlene Koslowsky, who were married this past summer in Africa.

The first significant winter storm of the season caused minor traffic mishaps and school closings this week. An estimated four to six inches of snow fell Monday in Marion County.

Ty Zeiner, top pancake salesman among Marion Kiwanians, is pictured serving a short stack to Debbi Darrow Saturday during the club’s annual fund raiser. Also in the picture are cousins, Emily Costello and Carrie and Corey Darrow, who enjoyed breakfast together.

Noreen Weems, director of Marion County Department for Elderly, bagged an eight-point buck with a bow during a Colorado hunting trip. County Clerk Marquetta Eilerts took a week off to hunt for venison. She scouted the territory and her husband, Eugene, shot a young buck.
