Kiwanians are pictured as they are taken on a personally escorted tour by Dr. Don Hodson at the Marion Fitness Center at noon Monday. Located in the basement of Marion Medical Clinic, the center has a wide range of devices that members can use any time, day or night.

According to a report recently issued by the Census Bureau, the number of people in Marion County declined from 13, 522 in 1980 to an estimated 13,100 in July of 1986, or by 3.1%.

Tammy Sandwell and Daniel Snelling, both of Marion, wish to announce their engagement and approaching marriage. The couple plans to be married April 9.

Marion Peacemakers sang to the infirm, elderly, and disadvantaged Dec. 22. Refreshments followed at the Marion Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. John E. Wheeler, 87, one of Marion’s most respected citizens, died Dec. 25 at West Wing nursing home where she had resided for the past several months.

Mary Lou Stika of Lincolnville, who has been teaching diplomatic foreign students the English language in Prague, Czechoslovakia, returned to the states Dec. 10 and has been visiting her mother in Lincolnville for the past week or so. She will resume her teaching at the University of Kansas this next semester.
