City of Marion commissioners continued to cooperate in keeping employees well dressed when they voted Monday afternoon to provide uniforms for the Marion-based county ambulance crew.

Brose Liquor Store in Marion has been selected as one of the initial 622 Kansas instant retailers to participate online in the multi-state Lotto America game.

Christine Laue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sanders, has been selected to be a participant July 14 to 27 in the Girl Scout Wider Opportunity “Whales, Witches and Weavers,” at Middleton, Mass.

Kansas School Lunch Week was Jan. 25-29 with each day having a special theme that students were encouraged to represent through clothing and decorations. Pictured in character with the theme “The Cowboy Capital” are Jared Herzet, Monica Sharp, Julie Weber, Kayleah May, Karen Klose, and Todd Winter.

Tom Grimwood, son of Ed and Betty Grimwood of Burns, spoke at the Marion Senior Center Thursday afternoon on his experience at mining mineralized rocks in the Andes Mountains of Bolivia.

Florence Middle School cheerleaders for 1988 are head cheerleader Angie Bina, Merri Greene, Jennifer Vantuyl, Tammy Johnson, Ruby Goering, and Ashley Loomis.
