Marion School District board of education members met Monday night and approved a proposed asbestos-removal plan to begin this summer. The plan, which will probably cost more than $200,000, is for the complete removal of all asbestos.

Myron Frans, a native of Marion and a corporate and taxation attorney with a 90-attorney 120-year-old law firm, has been appointed to serve on the Hennepin County Bar Associations’ ethics committee for the twin cities-area of Minnesota. He previously practiced law in Washington, D.C. He is the son of Fern Palmer of Marion and the late Charles Frans.
