The stage alongside Central Park on the south bank of the Luta Creek crossing will get its first tryout today when singers and polka dancers perform for the Santa Fe Trail bicycle riders who will be spending the night in Marion.

Baseball fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a Kansas City Royals game by taking advantage of bus trips sponsored by Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.

Leslie Hedstrom of Lincolnville was selected queen of the Tri-County Free Fair at Herington July 22. Leslie is the daughter of Bruce and Alona Hedstrom. Melanie Kraus of Marion, daughter of Don and Vickie Kraus, was selected as one of the queen’s attendants.

A potluck supper in Central Park Saturday evening will welcome the delegation of visiting 4-H’ers from North Dakota who will spend a week in Marion County.

Rocky Hett returned to Kansas Tuesday evening after spending a week in New Jersey. Luke and Shane Rothman accompanied him home to spend a few weeks visiting in Kansas.

Teresa Hett, daughter of John Keith and Sharon Hett of Palmer, Alaska, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Tabor College this year.

Debra Kreutzman of Wichita and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kreutzman returned Sunday after spending a week visiting relatives in Kansas and Nebraska.
