Marion Lions Club members Charles Kannady, Fred Helmer, Larry Gultz, and Mel Honeyfield are pictured setting logs in place on the east section of the nature trail in Central Park. The trail is lined with plastic, then filled with screenings. Most of the trail should be completed in time for dedication Saturday, during Old Settlers’ Day activities.

The 1989-90 Centre High School homecoming king and queen will be named Friday before the football game with Hope. Candidates include Jeff Peterson, David Kaiser, Randy Ecklund, Holly Kleinschmidt, Jamey Peterson, and Jenny Gutsch.

Beth E. Regier of Wichita and David T. McKee of Derby were married July 1 at the First Mennonite Brethren Church,
Wichita.

The Marion Warriors football team defeated Council Grove Friday night by a score of 29-2. Marion and Chase County are both undefeated overall and 1-0 in Cottonwood Valley League play.

Look Who’s Here—Carroll and Kim Shields of Lincolnville announce the birth of their son, Heath Samuel Shields, on Sept. 23 and Joseph and Teresa Nielsen of Marblehead, Massachusetts, announce the birth of their second daughter, Hannah Case Nielsen, on Sept. 7.

Classes planning reunions on OSD include those of 1929, 1937, 1939, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1974, and 1979.
