More than a hundred children and their parents attended a Central Park Stage performance Sunday evening by members of the Wichita Children’s Theatre. The performance of “Jack and the Beanstalk” involved audience participation from the children in attendance.

Babies born this week at St. Luke Hospital, all boys, include James Frank Gene Weber, and Nicholaus Wynne Abramowich, both born July 18, and Kenneth Thomas Atkins and Logan Andrew Richmond, both born July 20.

Two separate parties recently honored the third birthday of Chelsi Carlson, daughter of Mitch and Tracey Carlson. Children invited to a “Crocodile Mile” party on July 8 were Josh Kelsey, Matthew and Jillyan Berg, Cassie and Charlie Clemmer, Misti Richmond, Michael Darrow, Kayla Barrett, Kendra Nicely, Ashley, Amanda, and Jenile Hoffman, Rebecca Richmond, and Clinton Jeffrey. Guests at the second party, “Little Mermaid,” included family and friends.

Marion High School graduate Bill Davis, who was a member of a select group of athletes who played a series of exhibition basketball games against Chinese players this summer, is pictured wearing a jacket bearing his name in English and Chinese.

Ethan Good and Chris Hanson, both of Marion, recently completed the Future Astronaut Training Program at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson.
