The municipalities of Marion and Hillsboro entered into a joint agreement Monday to cooperate on relocation of the water inlet pipe at Marion Reservoir. The inlet pipe provides the water supply for both communities.’
The school board voted 5-2 Monday night to award a contract to Jost Construction Co. firm of Marion to build the phys-ed building to be located adjacent to Marion Elementary School. Jost’s base bid was $16,024 lower than the bid of Cheney Construction Co., Manhattan.
Marion Elementary School students Quinn Holub, Dusty Sharp, Hallie Bennett, Jessica Moore, Becky Taylor, and Crystal Gillis were finalists in a T-shirt design competition for PAC. The study body voted Nov. 3 to choose one design. Gillis had the winning design, which will be available through PAC.
Lorraine Hadsell presented an enjoyable slide tour of her trip to several European countries at the Nov. 2 meeting of 20th Century Club.
The Smoky Valley Long Rifle and Pistol Club spent the past weekend on Dennis Youk’s land west of Durham at a muzzleloaders camp at Cottonwood Crossing. This is approximately the 20th year for the gatherings, with the group re-enacting the period from about 1750 to 1840.
Students at Kansas State University initiated into Kappa Delta Pi academic honor society Oct. 18 included Julie Sellers of Florence and Gary Stuchlik of Lost Springs.
