Construction is underway on the 13,000 square foot building at East Main and South Coble, which will open in late October as Marion Home Town Foods. Owner Rick Turner of Marion County Lake also operates Florence Market in downtown Florence.

A public solicitation will be made during the next few days to pay for Christmas lighting fixtures and projects of the past two years. Businesses will be contacted, but all residents of the community are encouraged to donate to the holiday lighting fund, which provides decorations in Marion.

More than 40 children and teen-agers are involved in the ambitious production of the musical, “Krazy Kamp,” to be staged in Marion Municipal Auditorium Aug. 13-14. Marion-Florence REC volunteers are busy preparing for the musical performance that is being directed by Cathy Whitaker.

Twenty-one young people from Marion County attended the 4-H camp at Rock Springs Center. They were accompanied by their county extension agents, Kathy Goodin and Steve Tonn, along with four high school counselors, Wendi Suderman, Cheri Bentz, Tom Hall, and Dale Klenda.

Wayne and Goldie Steely of Burdick invite friends and neighbors to an open house Sunday to view their beautiful flower garden.
